Canvey Island keepers cross the bridge and run east to PL1 Goalkeeping Academy on Eastwoodbury Lane — around twenty-five minutes, and well worth it for coaching built only for the number one.
Canvey is its own world: the seawall, the island community and Canvey Island FC giving it a real footballing identity. What the island cannot offer its young goalkeepers is specialist coaching, which is why so many make the trip to PL1.
We reward that journey with focused, position-specific development: handling, distribution, shot-stopping and the mentality to dominate a penalty area. Formed in 2018 with UEFA/FA-qualified coaches, PL1 has sent 25 keepers into professional academies.

Our holiday camps are open to outfield players as well as keepers — every age, every ability. They run at the academy on Eastwoodbury Lane, about 25 minutes from Canvey Island, 10am–3pm. Drop in for one date or come to them all.
