Who we are
PL1 Goalkeeping (“PL1”, “we”, “us”) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our coaching services. You can contact us at info@pl1goalkeeping.co.uk or by post at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, United Kingdom.
We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller under registration number ZC160458.
What we collect
We collect personal data that you provide when you enquire, book training, or attend sessions, including: the keeper's name, age band and (where relevant) date of birth; parent or guardian name; contact details (email, phone); attendance and training records; payment details (processed by our payment provider, not stored by us); and — where consent is given — photographs and video of training and events.
We may also collect limited technical information from your device (such as browser type) for site security and to keep the site working.
Lawful basis
We process personal data on the following lawful bases: contract (to provide coaching, take bookings, take payments); legitimate interests (to run the academy safely and communicate about sessions); and consent (for photographs/video of children and for any marketing).
Children's data
Most of the people we coach are children. We follow the UK Information Commissioner's Children's Code (Age-Appropriate Design Code) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where a child is under 13, we obtain parental or guardian consent for any optional processing (for example, the use of their image).
Photographs and video of children are only taken with documented parental or guardian consent. Once the in-house booking system is live, consent will be recorded at registration; until then, consent is collected and held manually by management. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us — see Your rights below.
Who we share data with
We only share personal data with third parties where it is necessary to deliver our service or where required by law. Current and planned processors include:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- [PL1 TO CONFIRM: email provider, e.g. Resend] — transactional and account email.
- [PL1 TO CONFIRM: hosting provider] — website hosting.
- Our booking platform — managed in-house once the PL1 booking system goes live; previously Class4Kids.
- The Football Association / our county FA — where required for safeguarding or affiliation purposes.
- Social media platforms — only where you (or a parent/guardian) have consented to images or content being shared publicly.
We do not sell your personal data, ever.
How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, or to meet a legal obligation. Indicative retention periods: [PL1 TO CONFIRM]. We will delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete data we no longer need; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent at any time (for example, to remove a photograph); and receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact info@pl1goalkeeping.co.uk.
If you are not satisfied with our response you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and local storage
This website uses a single piece of local storage to remember your light/dark theme preference. It is not a cookie and is not used for tracking. When the in-house booking and account features go live, we will introduce session cookies necessary for sign-in; we will update this policy and where required ask for your consent.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
